Our Story…
At Holmfirth Fresh Fish we are a local, family run business.
Originally established in 1984, Edric Bowden being a fan of good quality fish would return from Fleetwood Docks with fresh fish and seafood for his family to enjoy. The quality of what he came back with was just outstanding, especially in comparison to any other fish they had experienced and soon Edric had regular orders from friends and neighbours whenever he visited the Docks. Recognising a great business opportunity when he saw it, Holmfirth Fresh Fish was borne! …
The business was an instant success and the family found themselves soon thereafter buying a fleet of vans and employing more staff to meet the demands. Several years later the shop was established at the existing premises off New Mill Road, Holmfirth giving customers the opportunity to purchase their produce over the counter and door to door.
The Business Today…
Over 35 years on, Richard and Gary have continued to evolve the family business and today, as always, pride themselves on providing the freshest, tastiest fish and seafood. All sourced from well-managed, sustainable sources, the team also offer a wide selection of high-class wild game and poultry and locally sourced and seasonal produce.
